Ordering ESTs

Schnable Lab EST distribution policy:

EST clones generated by the Schnable laboratory using NSF funding are available for distribution to the public. Before placing an order, please confirm that the clones of interest were generated by the Schnable lab. All ESTs from our lab have clone ID n umbers with the format XXX-YYY, where XXX is the plate number and YYY is the well position. We ask you to provide a shipping account number (Fed Ex, Airborne, etc.), to which we can bill the cost of overnight shipping your clone(s). There is also a $10.00 charge per clone for handling/preparation. Parties interested in acquiring large sets of clones should contact Dr. Schnable (see below).

To request a clone, please e-mail the following information to .

  1. Clone ID (e.g., MEST112-D08) and Genbank accession (e.g., BM080714) numbers
  2. Your Name
    Shipping Address
    Telephone Number, FAX number, and email address
  3. The Name of Your Institution
    Billing Address
    Billing telephone number, FAX number, and email address.

Following receipt of the above information, clones will be prepared and shipped to you (orders placed after Wednesday will be shipped on the following Monday or Tuesday to avoid the weekend). An itemized invoice will be sent to the requestor's billin g address prior to billing. Bills are sent at the end of each month via ISU's central Receivables system; payment is due within 30 days of the monthly "Statement of Account" date. Clone requests from institutions with overdue account balances will not b e processed until payment has been made and accounts are current.
